The RE-VP System is designed for straightforward operation with an emphasis on audio clarity. It provides instant playback, making it feel like a direct communication link. The unit utilizes an omnidirectional microphone with an impressive whisper pick-up range of up to 15 feet. To ensure optimal recording quality, investigators must ask the EVP question before pressing the record button, as the microphone's extreme sensitivity will likely cause distortion if you speak while recording. The RE-VP is designed exclusively for short burst recordings to capture immediate responses and is not a long-term recording device. After recording a short clip, if no audible phenomena is detected, the investigator can instantly use the delete function to clear the clip.

This non-digital, live-playback device offers precise control. It features independent individual volume controls to calibrate both the microphone gain and the speaker output, allowing you to fine-tune for any environment. Recordings (18hz-20khz frequency response) are saved into multiple internal banks up to a total recording time of 75 seconds. The Play button accesses the most recent recording, and the Next button advances to previously saved recordings. The RE-VP operates on eight (8) AA batteries (not included).

Best Practice for Investigations

Due to the exceptional sensitivity of the microphone, the RE-VP is highly recommended for use in a very quiet environment. Given its ability to capture faint whispers from a distance, it is strongly advised to run a concurrent video camera or to timestamp the audio immediately following a recording to help differentiate genuine EVP from false positives.

How to Use the RE-VP System

First, install eight (8) AA batteries. For optimal results, find a very quiet location. Before recording, use the independent volume controls to set your desired microphone gain and speaker output levels. To begin an EVP session, ask your question out loud first. Immediately after you finish speaking, press and hold the Record button to capture any potential response. Release the button, then press Play to instantly listen to the clip you just recorded. If you hear nothing, you can press the Delete button to clear that specific clip. To listen to previously saved clips, use the Next button to cycle through the internal memory banks. If the RE-VP will no longer record, this means the 75-second memory is full. To clear the entire memory and continue recording, press and hold the Delete button until the memory is wiped.
